The UKHSA developed the internal dosimetry software packages Taurus and IMBA to perform intake and dose calculations for internal radiological contamination in occupational exposures. Both packages provide a simple graphical user interface for users to calculate internal doses with either default parameter values or by specifying their own.
Taurus implements the most recent recommendations of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP Publication 103) and all the biokinetic and dosimetric models used for the calculation of the effective dose coefficients in the "Occupational Intakes of Radionuclides" (OIR) series of ICRP publications.
IMBA (Integrated Modules for Bioassay Analysis) is a suite of software modules for internal dosimetry which implements the old recommendations of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP Publication 60) and all the biokinetic and dosimetric models for the Reference Worker (ICRP Publication 68). IMBA is a legacy suite of software which is not going to be developed further.
