UKHSA has extensive liquid and solid effluent analysis experience, including liquid effluent samples from nuclear sites analysed to show operators' compliance with their discharge authorisations and solid sample analysis to prove compliance with disposal limits.
Example
UKHSA worked with a large multi-national steel producer, initially to provide basic radiochemical analysis to help inform their monitoring strategy, waste characterisation and disposal routes. Working closely with their in-house analytical team, UKHSA were able to help enhance their business by providing on-going support and advice; helping them to develop their own in-house analytical capability.
UKHSA continue to liaise with their in-house analytical team exchanging samples as part of a Quality Analysis Inter-Laboratory Comparison.
